![]() Welcome to jeremyhaun.com the place for all things Jeremy. Monday, February 28, 2011HURLEYCON 2011 PHOTO BLOG EXTRAVAGANZA!This past Saturday, February 19th was the 4th annual Hurleycon, here in Joplin, MO. It's a small but pretty amazing show put on by my good friends Jason and Nathan Hurley, owners of the local shop Hurley's Heroes. For being a little local show Hurleycon always has an excellent array of area creators including B. Clay Moore, Kevin Mellon, Cullen Bunn, Brian Hurtt, Jai Nitz, Dennis Hopeless, Kyle Strahm, Alex Grecian, and more. Attendance is always good and I was busy talking to fans and sketching the entire show.
So this is a quick little photo blog of the show and the afterparty that I host every year. There are a few shots of some of the sketches I did during the show sprinkled in among the general hijinks. As always the afterparty turns into Hackett Hot Wing and drinks fueled fun. Eventually Clay passes out on the floor. It's kind of inevitable. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So there you have it, the Hurleycon 2011 photo blog extravaganza! We had a great time. Hope you enjoy it. If you're in the area be sure to check out the show next year. You won't be sorry. Thanks

Sunday, February 27, 2011DESK SHOT 15!![]() Here are the inks for that image of Tom Judge I posted a few days ago. A had a lot of fun inking this piece. You can see a little of the thumb stamping I did while inking it. I love that technique. I can't wait for everyone to see the entire piece. It should be out in a couple of months. I'll give you more details as soon as I can! Thanks

Friday, February 25, 2011NEW COMICS WEDNESDAY 9- WHAT I BOUGHTThanks to a crazy schedule of deadlines and spending a couple of days guest lecturing at the local University, I missed making it to the shop last week. So this weeks stack of books is a little bigger than usual. Some really great stuff came out. It's going to take me a little while to get through all of it...I'm kind of behind as it is. I'm going to keep things short and sweet this week. I'm still trying to play catch up after last week's insanity.

MORNING GLORIES, TURF, INFINITE VACATION, and ECHOS (from Top Cow) are just a few of the excellent creator owned comics coming out every month. I suggest you check them out. ...LEGALLY of course. :) So we're back on track with New Comics Wednesday. Check back next week to see what stuff I picked up...I mean, if you want to. Thanks

Friday, February 25, 2011ARTIFACTS!!!![]() So, for those of you who haven't heard the big announcement yet, I'm going to be drawing the third arc of Top Cow's huge event book ARTIFACTS. It's been hard to keep quiet about this one. When we announced that I'd be taking over the Darkness with issue 96 in a little over six months there was this strange gap in my schedule that I just couldn't talk about. It's nice to FINALLY be able to let the cat out of the bag. Since we first discussed the project I've been so excited about the challenge of working on the book. It's so much bigger than ANYTHING I've done to date. There are more characters, bigger vistas, more insane action, and simply the most epic story of my career. This is quite a way to kick off my exclusive with Top Cow. If you aren't already reading Artifacts, get caught up. My arc will start with issue 9 and it's going to kick off with a bang! I'm going to show off what I can as soon as I can. There are a lot of potential spoilers, so I have to be a little careful about what I share. I promise just as soon as I get the thumbs up to do so, I'll post whatever I can. ![]() To find out a little more about my upcoming Artifacts arc and a little more on the series itself, check out the following sites. http://www.topcow.com/moos/43-latest-moos/535-jeremy-haun-announced-as-third-artist-on-artifacts http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/02/14/top-cow-artifacts-new-team-jeremy-haun-ron-marz/ http://www.comicvine.com/the-13-artifacts/12-55685/ Oh, and one other thing, be sure and preorder Artifacts #9 at your local comic shop or online retailer. It's in this month's Previews. I promise you it'll be epic! Thanks

Thursday, February 24, 2011IT’S BEEN A WHILE… Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. The past couple of weeks have been...hectic. I've been working my butt off on a couple of the new Top Cow projects, I guest lectured on comics and my career at the local University art department, and last weekend was Hurleycon 2011. Things should be back to business as usual this week. I've got all sorts of stuff to show off and blab about. Stay tuned! Thanks

Friday, February 11, 2011SITE UPDATE AWESOMENESS!![]() As I've mentioned a few times recently, I've been working pretty hard to add content here to the site. So far I think I'm doing a pretty decent job. :) This week, in addition to the usual posts, we've added a couple of fun new things over on the left side of the page. First off, for those of you that have been asking or are interested in purchasing my original artwork, we've added a CADENCE COMIC ART link. Paolo over at Cadence has been my art rep for well over a year now. He's a great, honest guy that I can honestly say cares about making both his artists and customers happy. Even if you aren't in the market for original artwork, I encourage you to drop by the site and check out more of my artwork. And if you end up finding something that you like, remember to tell him that I sent ya! Next up, you'll see a couple of new icons under "FOLLOW ME". If you aren't already following me on twitter or facebook, click on those so you can hear me blather on even more. It's usually silly stuff like me talking about what I'm eating or watching, but I also talk pretty frequently about what I'm currently working on, process stuff, and even occasional hints about upcoming projects. So take a look at em. I'd love to be your virtual BFF. :) Finally, I've added an amazon.com store widget. I've had several people mention recently that they don't have local comic shops or can't seem to find a few of my books. I usually end up pointing people to one of the online comic shops or to Amazon. In order to make it easier to find my published work, I finally decided to go ahead and put up a link to Amazon here on the site. It's an easy way to get my work delivered right to your front door AND every time you order something from them a few cents goes into my pocket. Everybody's happy. You get books and after a little while I can afford that four month around the globe vacation I've been wanting. :) So those are the new updates to the site. I hope they're helpful. I'm going to keep updating and adding things to the site. As always, THANKS!

Thursday, February 10, 2011LIFE DRAW STUDIO SESSION 23! (NSFW)In spite of the snow and cold, we had another excellent Life Draw Studio session tonight in my studio. As I've mentioned before, we do 10- one minute, 5- two minute, 4- five minute, 2- ten minute, and 1 twenty minute drawings. Here are a few of my favorite sketches from this session. Hope you dig em!

Wednesday, February 9, 2011DESK SHOT 13![]() I've been inking like a madman for the past few days. I thought I'd put up a quick desk shot peek of the page I've been working on. I still can't say or show much about this project. It's probably going to be a little while before I really can. Still I can't help but share a panel here and there. I'm really proud of some of the inking on this page. The top panel turned out nearly exactly as I'd planned. Doing night shots isn't ever very easy. I feel like I handled the balance of the foreground, middle ground and background elements pretty well. Alright, that's enough of a break. I'm going to get back to slinging ink. Hope you dug this quick peek. Look for another Desk Shot again soon! Thanks
