![]() Welcome to jeremyhaun.com the place for all things Jeremy. Thursday, September 22, 201130 DAY PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE! (DAY 3)Back again for day three of the 30 Day Photography Challenge! I've got to admit this is a lot of fun.
Today's challenge- A Photo Of Your Favorite Place To Be. ![]() This one was pretty easy. My studio is kind of an extension of me. It's where I spend most of my time. Since I do tend to work long hours at the drawing table, I wanted a space that I could feel comfortable in. Where I'd want to hang out when I'm finished drawing a page. The studio is a renovated carriage house originally built at the turn of the century. We put a lot of hard work getting it fixed up. It was kind of a mess when I bought the place a few years ago. Now it's my favorite place to be. If you'd like to know more about the 30 Day Photography Challenge, possibly join in on the fun, or just check out some of Melodie's amazing photography, go to her blog- http://www.mellowyellowphotography.blogspot.com/ See you tomorrow. Thanks!

Wednesday, September 21, 201130 DAY PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE! (DAY 2)So it's day two of the 30 Day Photography Challenge. I'm doing good so far, right?
Today's challenge- A Photo Of What You Wore Today. ![]() I decided to go a little silly with this one. I wanted to get everything in, which isn't easy to do. It's kind of a pain to stand in front of a mirror and try and get the entire ensemble in there. So there it is. It was a lot of fun to do. I hope you dig it. Also, here on day two, Instagram FINALLY released an update allowing users to save high-res photos. After nearly a year of using the program it's nice to have higher-res images. I'm pretty excited that for the remainder of this challenge the pics will be a little bigger, so you can see some of the details. Again, if you'd like to know more about the 30 Day Photography Challenge, possibly join in on the fun, or just check out some of Melodie's amazing photography, go to her blog- http://www.mellowyellowphotography.blogspot.com/ See you tomorrow. Thanks!

Wednesday, September 21, 2011DESK SHOT 31!![]() It's been a while since I've put up a new Desk Shot. Sorry about that. Today I'm working on a page from my upcoming Top Cow- Pilot Season book THE BEAUTY. This panel is just a simple establishing shot, but I really like it. The framing was a lot of fun. It sounds kind of silly, but I always love drawing the mundane things like architecture. It grounds a book. A good establishing shot like this tells you a lot about what we can expect when we go inside the house. The black areas haven't been filled in, yet. I'll give that to my assistant to fill in, tomorrow. I'll be sure and put up the finished panel then. It should help the foreground and background elements pop a bit. I'll definitely get back to doing desk shots again more often. Sorry I've been away from it for so long. I love doing them. They're a major part of the fun of doing a blog. Now I'm going to get some sleep. It's going to be a busy work day, tomorrow! Thanks.

Tuesday, September 20, 201130 DAY PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE! (DAY 1)Okay, I'm doing this. Committing to it. I tend to kind of keep my head down and enjoy other people doing photography challenges and fun projects. This time around, my friend and absolutely phenomenal photographer Melodie Maynard flat out challenged me to join in on this. I'm pretty sure she called me a little girl when I tried to back out...so how could I say no. Peer pressure, folks, it does work. :)
So the challenge is one photo a day. I think I can do that. Since I'm pretty addicted to shooting anyway, it's just adding a bit of direction to my wandering lens. Todays challenge- A Photo Of Yourself. ![]() I'm not really good at turning the camera on myself. I don't think most artists usually are. I'm doing it though. I'm taking the challenge. I'm no little girl! So there you have it. Day one. I'm going to keep up with this because if not Melodie will throw things at me from a state away until I do. If you'd like to know more about this challenge and possibly join in AND check out some great photography check out Mel's blog- http://www.mellowyellowphotography.blogspot.com/ See you tomorrow. Thanks!

Tuesday, September 20, 2011NEW COMICS WEDNESDAY 19- WHAT I BOUGHT!How about another New Comics Wednesday? It was a big week this time around. I guess technically two weeks. Getting back from a trip always yields a pretty healthy stack of books.
A lot of great stuff hit the stands over the past couple weeks. I don't have time to add commentary on the books this week. I'd really like to. I'm really excited to get a new chapter of Casanova and books like Severed and American Vampire have both been spot on perfect bits of horror goodness. Fear Itself if building to a HUGE finale, the new Ultimate Spider-Man looks BEAUTIFUL, and Daredevil-- DAREDEVIL, I'm LOVING this book. Seriously, I'm so digging Mark Waid's take on DD. I hope he sticks around for...ever. See, even in spite of no time for commentary, I give a bit. It's what I do. Give. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() MORNING GLORIES #12 CRIMINAL: THE LAST OF THE INNOCENT NUMBER 4 BALTIMORE: THE CURSE BELLS #2 SUPER DINOSAUR #4 UNCANNY X-FORCE #15 WOLVERINE #15 CASANOVA: AVARITIA 1 FEAR ITSELF BOOK 6 THE NEW AVENGERS #1 ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #1 PUNISHER MAX #17 THE DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER #4 THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #669 SEVERED #2 AMERICAN VAMPIRE: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST #4 THE NEW AVENGERS: FEAR ITSELF # 16 THE PUNISHER #3 HERE COMES... Monday, September 19, 2011UPDATING! (FALL 2011)![]() I know, I know, things have been a bit "Instagram" dump heavy on here lately. Sorry about that. We just got back from a MUCH needed vacation. It was a wonderful trip to the Mediterranean. I'll post more on that sometime soon. Yes, probably a photo blog. Sorry. It's kind of my thing. Anyway, I've been working extra hard lately gearing up for the trip and it's left little time for much of anything else. All of that said, I've got a few exciting things coming up that I wanted to be sure and mention. The next couple of months are going to be pretty big. SEPTEMBER 28- ARTIFACTS #10 hits stores! I'm really proud of this one. Big stuff happens! OCTOBER 13-16 - NYCC! I couldn't be more excited to be a guest of the 2011 New York Comic Con! I'm going to be set up at the TOP COW/IMAGE booth 1346. I'll be there promoting my work on ARTIFACTS, my upcoming work on the DARKNESS, and my Pilot Season book THE BEAUTY with my good buddy and writing partner Jason A. Hurley. Jason and I will be signing a special NYCC exclusive edition of THE BEAUTY. I can't wait to show off the cover we've got cooked up for it. Soon, I promise. So if you're going to be at the show, stop by and say "HI!"...and as always, anyone who brings me doughnuts, drinks, or cool stuff gets something special. ROME SKETCHBOOK AT NYCC- After previewing a few pages from my vacation sketchbook, I had a few people ask if I was planning on printing it. I decided to do a small edition, printing a few to bring with me to NYCC. I'll have more on it in the next week or so, but it looks like it's going to be something like 32 pages of fun stuff. Here are a couple preview images from it-- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OCTOBER 19- THE BEAUTY #1, my Pilot Season book from TOP COW (co-written by Jason A. Hurley and myself and drawn by me) hit's shops. I seriously couldn't be more excited about this book. Hurley and I have worked our asses off on it and had a hell of a time doing it. In case you haven't heard about it yet, here is the synopsis, cover, and a few pages. "Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could be come more and more beautiful every day? What if it was contagious? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable and while the mass majority of the population has taken advantage of it, Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes with a terrible price. Writer/artist JEREMY HAUN (Detective Comics, ARTIFACTS) and co-writer JASON HURLEY offer up a startling reflection on the cost of looking good in this procedural science fiction tale." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Okay, I think that just about covers everything. I'll post a bit more about all of these over the next week or so as we get closer to the dates. As always, if you have any questions on any of it, please just drop me an email and I'll get back with you as soon as possible. Now it's back to the drawing board for me! Thanks!

Sunday, September 4, 2011INSTAGRAM 7!Time for another Instagram set. Getting back into the swing of things with posting regularly.
This set features my trip to Chicago for the C2E2 comic convention. I had an absolutely wonderful time at the show. I shared a room at the W with my good friend and Top Cow editor Filip Sablik, ate some pretty amazing local Chicago food, and got to hang out with fans and good friends all weekend. Being gone to a convention is always a lot of fun, but the best part is always getting home and seeing my family. The last six pictures, getting back to Joplin, arriving home and seeing my boys, are easily my favorites of this set. ...well...those and me snoozing with Mjolnir. ![]() Even in my sleep I am worthy. ![]() Appetizers from our amazing dinner at C House: oysters, mushroom terrine, and yellowtail tacos ![]() Dinner-- an assortment of amazing side dishes. Including macaroni and cheese, potato and cheddar soup, crispy sweetbreads and brussels sprouts. ![]() Headed to C2E2 for the last day of the show. ![]() Downtown Chicago via cab. ![]() In line at Starbucks, for a bit of the caffeine before the show. ![]() Breakfast of champions. ![]() Tony and Kara's adorable little girl Emmy Lou. ![]() Rainy downtown. My last night in Chicago. ![]() Packed and ready to go. ![]() One last look at the room. ![]() Gate B-17 ![]() Lost Dolphin. ![]() Woohoo! Just landed in Kansas City! ![]() Back in Joplin. ![]() Home again- home again. ![]() Me and the little dude. ![]() Seeing as I'm leaving again in four days, unpacking them seems a bit silly. ![]() Odinson. ![]() Grubby little monkeys. That's it for this set. Check back next Sunday for more! Thanks!
