It’s DINO DAY again!

I’m just back from my two week long trip to New York for Special Edition NYC and then to Charlotte, NC for Heroes Con.  I had a great time at both shows, but I’ve got to admit, I’m really glad to be home.

This week’s Dino Day piece is another take on the Carnotaurus– the derpiest predator.  The sketch was done on a sheet of 6x6in bristol board using a Deleter Comic Pen nib pen and Yasutomo sumi ink.

Alright– short and sweet today. Ethan and I are going to snag a bit of brunch before I get back to work.

See you next week!

It’s DINO DAY again! This one was tricky. I’ve been out of town for the past week, in New York for the new Special Edition Con. Today, I left NYC for Charlotte, NC to attend one of my favorite shows, Heroes Con. Doing that meant that this piece was done on the road. You’ll have to forgive the quick, rough nature of the piece and the poor picture quality. I usually have my studio, desk, and scanner for such things. This was completely on the fly. Still– really adds to the fun, doesn’t it.

Today’s piece was based on one of Owen’s plastic dinosaurs. It was done in about twenty minutes on a Strathmore Bristol vellum surface pad in brush pen and Copic Marker.

In spite of being quick and done on the run, it was another fun Dino Day, piece. I hope you dig it.

By the way, I’ll put up a proper scan of this when I get back home in a few days.

Now I’m going to relax a bit in the hotel room and watch a little Orange is the New Black on the Ipad.

Until next week!

HEROES CON 2014! (AA 821-822)

I will be heading from the Big Apple directly to Charlotte for HeroesCon this week.  The convention is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  For more information, check out their site

I will have lots of goodies on the table–single issues of Batwoman, trades,  t-shirts, and lots of Batwoman original art.  Also, I’d be happy to sign any books for you that you already have, just stop by!

This is will be the first time I have Bad Karma Volume One at this show.  Come by and check it out. We will also have some of those great Kraken tees as well as several Bad Karma prints.

I only have a few pre-order commission spaces left.  These 9×12 full color bust of the character of your choice are $60.  Above is a sample Batwoman commission I did this weekend at Special Edition NYC.  If you would like to get on my list, email me ASAP at

Looking forward to seeing you all.

It’s DINO DAY AGAIN!  Well…more Dino Night, really.

This has been one long hard week. On the good side of things, I finished up work on Batwoman #33 late this afternoon. On the better side of things, I’m heading out for New York on Friday for Special Edition. After so much work lately, I could use a nice break.

Today’s Dino Day piece was done on a 10x10in sheet of rough(ish) bristol board, using  Deleter 1.0 and 2.0mm pens. It was another quick piece, done in about 25 minutes. It was pretty much all scribble.  I loved that.

Okay, I need to get going on thumbnailing this next issue of Batwoman. Busy bee, mee.

See you next week!

It’s DINO DAY again!

Today’s piece was a quick fun little watercolor based on a fossil study I did at the Natural History Museum in New York.  The piece was done in about twenty minutes on a nice 7x7in sheet of Arches 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper, using Windsor Newton yellow ochre and burnt umber watercolors.

Alright, short and sweet today! Ethan’s home for Summer vacation, so we’re off to have some fun!

See you next week!
